Sky and Sea View Park

An amazing lookout point named after Kūkai, founder of the Shikoku Pilgrimage

Sky and Sea View Park

The Sky and Sea View Park is little more than a concrete tower on a hilltop on the Muroto Peninsula. It stands high above Kōnomine-ji Temple and Kōnomine Shrine atop a mountain 570 m high. The tower is a further 28 m. A spiral metal staircase gives access to the viewing platform.

The view from here is breath-taking, encompassing the whole of southern Shikoku. On a clear day you can see south to the tip of the Muroto Peninsula, west across the vast Tosa Bay to Ashizuri, and north to the snow-capped Shikoku Mountains.

You can access the park on foot and by car from Kōnomine-ji Temple. Apart from the tower, there’s a public toilet and rest hut. It barely merits the name ‘park’, but the view more than makes up for any other lack.
