Seiryuen
Until the 1950s, there were 30 or more waterwheels on the Fumoto River, used to power mills for polishing the rice grown in local valleys. Today there are three restored mills on the river among the tall cypress trees. The rice served for breakfast to guests at Ishidatami no Yado is milled here. In early summer, fireflies can be seen around the river.
One of the covered bridges typical of Uchiko crosses the river.
