We depart Matsuyama for Sunrise Itoyama and cycle across the Kurushima Straits Bridge on the Shimanami Kaidō to Ōshima. The tidal difference in the Inland Sea is 4 m, causing the water to flow like a river, forming whirlpools between the islands. We take a fast boat into the racing currents of the Straits.
After visiting Hakata Island and a seafood lunch, we visit Ōyamazumi Shrine and the Tatara Bridge by bicycle.
