Your guide meets you in the morning at your hotel or JR Matsuyama Station. We visit Matsuyama Castle using the cable car up the mountain. The views from the castle tower, which dates from the Edo period, extend from the Seto Inland Sea to Mt. Ishizuchi in the middle of Shikoku. See if you can find the caricature of a samurai drawn by a carpenter who worked on the castle.
Lunch is a choice of the traditional local dishes of Matsuyama.
After lunch, we explore Dōgo, including its bathhouses, shrines and temples. We also visit Dōgo Park, which was itself once a castle. Dōgo Arcade is a great place to browse for unique souvenirs.
The tour ends back where we started.
