Noshima Island

Noshima is a tiny island in the Seto Inland Sea off Imabari. The island was the fortress of the Murakami Suigun pirates in the Warring States period. Protected by the rapid currents that churn around the island, they dominated marine traffic. You can still see the remains of the fortifications they built.

The island is opened once a year during the cherry blossom season.
